Our Mission

Slow books for a fast world.

One Pupil Publications is an independent contemplative press founded in 2011. We produce companions — not courses, not curricula — for the interior life. Our books are designed to be read slowly, returned to often, and carried through seasons of life rather than finished and shelved.

The name comes from a title given in the sacred writings of the Bahá’í Faith to those whose spiritual sight is singular and clear — fixed on what is real, undistracted by what is passing. That quality of attention is what we hope our publications invite.

We draw from the world’s great spiritual traditions not to blend them into something generic, but to let each voice speak in its own register — and to trust the reader to hear the deeper harmony beneath.

Meditations on Eternity
Volume One

Meditations on Eternity

Our first publication is a 52-week contemplative companion exploring the theme of eternity across eight of the world’s great spiritual traditions — Hinduism, Taoism, Judaism, Buddhism, Christianity, Islam and Sufism, Indigenous wisdom, and the Bahá’í Faith.

Each week offers a sacred passage, a setting of context, a practice for embodiment, and questions for reflection. The series moves through nine thematic sections — from the eternal nature of God, through death and the afterlife, through suffering and service, to the soul’s final reunion with the divine.

It is designed to be read one week at a time — slowly, repeatedly, with space between.

“We are not trying to give you something new to believe. We are trying to help you hear what the great teachers have always known — and to let that hearing change the texture of your days.”

The Author

A lifelong seeker
and servant.

One Pupil Publications was founded by a writer, editor, and contemplative practitioner with a background in journalism, social services, and disability advocacy — and a lifelong engagement with the Bahá’í Faith and the world’s wisdom traditions.

The Meditations on Eternity series grew from years of personal study, grief, and the quiet conviction that the great spiritual traditions of the world, when placed in honest conversation with one another, illuminate something no single tradition can reveal alone.

This is not academic work. It is the distillation of a life spent asking the questions that will not go away.
